Message from the President

Warm Greetings to all my fellow members of PAEPI!

First, allow me to extend my sincerest thanks and gratitude to all of you for the support and trust you have extended to me as your President.

Truly, we have gone a long way in building a strong community of development and extension managers and professionals; propelling the knowledge and technology base of our country. I commend all the past presidents of PAEPI for all the noble accomplishments they had done. When I accepted the Presidency, the stakes are high and challenges are even greater with the unravelling developments in the ASEAN region. Everyone, I believe within the ASEAN community is taking time how to integrate ourselves in the fast evolving economy of South East Asian nations. Of course, we know that by opening our doors to our neighbors we welcome new opportunities and new challenges. Thus, the call for all of us is how to innovate and integrate ourselves and create a healthy co-existence among us. We need to strengthen our existing linkages and forge new alliances with our partners in the ASEAN regions especially on mega issues related to Climate Change, Environment and Biodiversity Degradation and Poverty.

During my two years term as President (CY 2016-2018), the programs of my leadership will focus on the following: 1) Capability Building, 2) Expansion of Membership, 3) Strengthening Linkage and Partnership both in the National and International Communities 4) Resource Generation, 5)Accreditation of PAEPI as Continuing Professional Development by PRC and 6) Giving Cash Prize Award to Best Paper in Extension during International Congress or Biennial Conventions.

I believe in the strong and committed members and officers of the Association. We can accomplish much and do more by working and helping together as one PAEPI family.

Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my mother institution- the Isabela State University through its President Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino for all his support extended to me as the PAEPI President. Also to all the Presidents and Heads of SUCs/HEIs and to our partner agencies for supporting and helping the Association move to its greater heights. To all of you, thank you very much.
