A warm greetings to my fellow Members and Officers of PAEPI!
As a seasoned officer of the Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementors, Inc. (PAEPI), I can confidently say that I have been one of the pillars of the association, unselfishly and diligently contributing to its sustainability and success as a leading professional organization for extensionists in the country today. Over the years, it has been PAEPI’s goal to become a key player in the professional growth and competencies of its members. We have taken bold steps and limitless actions to reach out to more faculty extensionists across the country, providing access to capacity-building programs, congresses, conferences, and technology forums on extension services, which are religiously implemented by the National Officers.
As the successor of PAEPI’s leadership, I take pride in leading the association to greater heights and success. We are focused on the formation of PAEPI regional chapters to bring the association’s programs and services closer to its members, especially in the countryside. We will further strengthen our cooperation and collaboration initiatives with state universities and colleges (SUCs), higher education institutions (HEIs), national government agencies (NGAs), local government units (LGUs), people’s organizations (POs), and international agencies and institutions. PAEPI will spearhead the awarding of recognitions and special awards to individuals and groups who have demonstrated exemplary performance and made a significant impact in their communities through their innovations and community engagements.
We will continue to explore the expansion of membership by creating more accessible platforms and processes. Regional capacity-building development programs and extension conferences will be conducted. The association will ensure its relevance and contribution to the internationalization programs of its members’ institutions by spearheading the establishment of international cooperation in the conduct of events and conferences.
As the saying goes, PAEPI initiates the first-ever International Extension Conference (IEC) themed: “Global Perspectives: Cultivating Cultural Diversity and Community Empowerment for a Prosperous Future, on December 11-15,2024 at Maejo University, Chiangmai, Thailand.
This event will be co-organized by the Asian Agriculture University Network (AAUN), Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC), Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU), Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISATU), Camarines Sur Polytechnic College (CSPC), Don Mariano Marcos Memorial University, Isabela State University (ISU), and the Philippine Association of Agriculturists (PAA) - Tamarind Chapter, alongside Maejo University, Chiang Mai, Thailand.
This initiative demonstrates PAEPI’s dedication and commitment to fulfilling its mandate as a key player in the transformation, sustainability, and development of its members and the communities we serve.
Philippians 1:6: “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
